Meet your teacher!
My name is Jessica Fimon, and I am so excited to be teaching the Pre-K Young Scholars program this school year! I graduated from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota in May 2015, and I taught 4th grade at NDA last year.
I got married in the summer of 2015 to my husband Aaron, and you may notice that I have the same last name as the current 4th grade teacher at NDA, Leslie Fimon! We are married to brothers. :)
My son, Teddy, was born on October 6th, 2016. He loves to sing, read and snuggle--all things I love to do, too! I am now back from my maternity leave and I'm excited to finish the year strong!
I love herbal tea, scarves, and all things autumn.

Funny Quotes & Moments :)
1/4/17: There was a real dog in the church office! We saw him in the morning when everyone was getting dropped off for school. We sang our "There's a Dog in School" song for him (if you haven't heard that one, ask your student to sing it for you!) and the dog barked along with us!! What an amazing opportunity! :)
Overheard at the snack table:
"I have Goldfish at my house!"
"I have Goldfish at my house, too!"
"Now we can be best friends!!!"
Overheard at center time: "Second is another word for first." (Good thing we're talking about ordinal numbers this week...)
We had just finished a great discussion on squirrels and why they collect acorns in the fall. We saw a squirrel on our playground, and I asked, "What do you think they're trying to find?" One student said, "Coconuts!!!!"
While reading a book about a big city, I said, "Let me explain what a subway is". One student blurted out, "I've been to Subway!! I eat fresh!!!"
All of the students are fascinated by the baby in my belly. :) They love to tickle the baby's feet, and each time they get a sticker, they make sure the baby gets a sticker, too!
